The highly-anticipated “Tribute” album from Ricky Fuentes and The Brown Express to the original Brown Express is finished and available online now.
The tribute album to the legendary band started by Fuentes’ father, Ricardo “Richard” Fuentes, in the 1970s features collaborations with many Tejano stars and legends.
“I present to you all this collaboration of songs with my FRIENDS as I pay TRIBUTE to my Dad, ‘Riche’ Fuentes, and the original Brown Express,” Fuentes posted on Facebook.
The album boasts 20 tracks with collaborations that include AJ Castillo, Shelly Lares, Chente Barrera, Gary Hobbs, the late Arturo Montes, to name just a few. One song, “El Corrido del Brown Express,” features legends Little Joe, Ruben Ramos, Roberto Pulido, and Los Texmaniacs.
“This album was a huge undertaking for me that lasted two years in production,” said Fuentes. “This project took countless hours in recording studios and road trips throughout Texas and southwestern states.”
Fuentes lost his father in a tragic tour bus accident that also killed another member of The Brown Express in 1983.
“I remember being that 12-year-old kid who had just lost his Dad,” he said. “Everyone telling me, ‘You have to follow your Dad’s footsteps & continue where he left off.’ I had no idea how I was going to do it but I spent the next 36 years preparing for this moment.”
“My dream has finally come true,” he added.

“Tribute” is available for download and CD plus download at BrownExpressTribute.com. It will be available all digital music platforms on Sept. 6.
