Rick Fuentes talks upcoming ‘Tribute’ album, loss of Ernestine Romero + more [AUDIO]

Rick Fuentes shares details on an upcoming 'Tribute' album to the original Brown Express and speaks about the tragic loss of singer Ernestine Romero.

Rick Fuentes formed the next generation of The Brown Express and had much success with their self-titled debut album released in January 2017, winning Best New Group at the 2018 Tejano Music Awards. Now, he plans to pay tribute to the original Brown Express with the group’s next album.

Fuentes spoke with Tejano Nation contributor Fanny Gurl after his performance with Texas Latino at the Casino Ballroom in Tucson, Arizona. He shared details on the upcoming album including collaborations with many of Tejano’s biggest stars. He also shared a memory of late New Mexico singer Ernestine Romero.

Fanny Carreon better known as “Fanny Gurl” is currently an on-air personality at KPYT-LP 100.3 Yoeme Radio, “The Voice of the Pasqua Yaqui Tribe” in Tucson, Arizona. The El Paso, Texas Native is the KPYT Tejano Music Director and co-hosts The More Variety Morning Show with Hector Youtsey every Friday from 9-11 a.m. MT. Fanny also covers the Southwest region music and entertainment scene for TejanoNation.Net the premiere website for Tejano music, news and entertainment based out of San Antonio, Texas by conducting interviews on the different artist and bands. Fanny does a segment for the “Rudy Trevino Tejano Gold Countdown” which is heard in over 50 radio stations all over the Country and Mexico. The El Paso, Texas Native is also a Tv Host and does a segment for a local Tv Show on Azteca Tucson called “Estrellas en Arizona”. Fanny has Emcee in many different events including the Tejano Music Fan Fair in San Antonio, Texas. Fanny Gurl has also covered many events in Arizona, New Mexico, Las Vegas, and California. Fanny Gurl’s passion for Tejano music, radio, and Tv has established a large following within the Tejano music world, on the radio, and via the internet.
