Cindy Ramos has released “Cuento De Nunca Acabar” from her upcoming sophomore album “Inicios,” an album that will showcase her roots in Conjunto music.
“Conjunto is my roots,” Ramos told Domingo Live. “It’s what I grew up listening to, it’s what my dad taught me, it’s what my grandpa taught me, it’s what my grandpa used to sing and it’s in the blood.”
“Cuento De Nunca Acabar” is a conjunto tune with a twist, produced by Lorenzo ‘Papo’ Banda, that features Ramos’ new Conjunto style, a style that is showcased on her upcoming album.
“It’s amazing that Papo was able to embrace that with me and produce amazing work with something that came from the heart,” she said.
The lead single from the album, “Toma Mi Corazoncito,” won Crossover Song of the Year at the2019 South Texas Conjunto Association Awards in June.
“You know I’m very, very fortunate because this is my second CD, and of course I could not forget my producer Lorenzo ‘Papo’ Banda he is amazing,” said Ramos. “He produced my music, this time we revamped everything to more Conjunto.”
A native of Laredo, Texas, Ramos has a deep love for music and grew up immersed in Tejano and Conjunto music. She cites her musical influences as Laura Canales, Selena, Elsa Garcia, Ruben Vela, Tony De La Rosa, and Linda Escobar, to name just a few.
“Inicios” is expected to be released later this summer at all digital music platforms. It will be the follow-up to “Quiero Ser” released in 2016, an album that garnered Ramos a Best New Female nomination at the 2017 Tejano Music Awards.
