Rising Tejano singer Monica Saldivar released her latest single “Me Cuesta Tanto Olvidarte,” on Tuesday. It’s a cover of the 2015 hit song from Enrique Iglesias.
“The song is a Tejano/Norteño infused ranchera, which is a new rendition of the heart-wrenching song co-written by Iglesias and Claudia Brant.
“One of my all-time favorite singer-songwriters,” Saldivar told Tejano Nation about the single produced by her music director, Victor “VIX” Garcia.
“I was just really touched by the song and really had been wanting to work on it for a little bit,” she said. “It was one of my favorite songs from Enrique Iglesias’ last album. It touched my heart so much that I just had to share it with everybody. We’re super excited with the results.”
Saldivar is also planning her debut album. She says, “We’re in the very early stages of recording and picking out songs, but that’s definitely our ultimate goal.”
The singer will once again be a part of the lineup at the annual Tejano Music National Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada this summer.
“We’re super excited,” she said. “it’s going to be amazing!”
Also known as Vegas Tejano Music Week, the four-day event will take place at the Rio Hotel and Casino, August 22 – 25, 2019. Get more info at VegasTejano.com.
