Nominations for the 2019 STCA Conjunto of the Year Awards now open

Starting today, nominations for the 2019 South Texas Conjunto Association (STCA) Conjunto of the Year Awards are now open

Starting today, nominations for the 2019 South Texas Conjunto Association (STCA) Conjunto of the Year Awards are now open.

The public can nominate their favorite artist for the 21st annual music awards ceremony, which will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at the Full Court Event Center in Elsa, Texas.

Nominations will close at a future date to be determined, and online voting for the award categories that allow public voting will open shortly after that.

Nominations are accepted as follows:

A voting committee of Conjunto music industry professionals will vote to put together the final nominations to be voted on by the public.

Nominations are being accepted for the following categories: Conjunto of the Year, Classic Conjunto of the Year*, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Drummer of the Year, Bassist of the Year, Bajo player of the Year, Accordionist of the Year, Vocalist of the Year, Crossover Artist/Song/CD of the Year*.

*Classic Conjunto qualifications: Conjunto that has won Conjunto of the year in the past 20 years.

*Crossover Artist/Song/CD of the year qualifications: Singer/Band that has recorded a Conjunto Song/CD from a different Genre other than Conjunto, like Tejano, Norteño, Jazz, etc.
