Austin, Texas – Austin-based non-profit organization Rancho Alegre Radio has announced its lineup for the 6th Annual Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival, May 3-5, 2019 at The BARn and Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater.

The annual festival showcases traditional, accordion-driven Texas Conjunto music with a wide variety of performers from all over the state of Texas.

This year, the festival will take place at two Austin venues on Cinco de Mayo weekend: Friday May 3rdfrom 7 p.m. to midnight and Saturday May 4th from 3 p.m. to midnight at The BARn (6218 Brodie Lane) and will end the weekend on two stages Sunday May 5th from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater (801 Red River Street).

The diverse lineup follows the festival’s tradition of booking several favorites, some hometown heroes, bona fide legends, and groups who may have never played in Austin before. Among the program highlights in addition to music will be a celebration for Gilberto Perez Sr. in honor of this 60 years in Conjunto music, special guest performers, special recognition for San Antonio’s Ephraim Bosmans and Austin’s Thomas Hernandez of Turntable Records for their contributions to the genre, and much more to be announced. Wolfpak Radio of Wharton, Texas will also be broadcasting live from the festival on http://www.wolfpakradio.com.

An extra special addition to the lineup is Austin legend Johnny Degollado, whose own Austin Conjunto Festival which he has produced for nearly 30 years on Cinco de Mayo weekend at Fiesta Gardens, will not be happening this year.

“Honestly, it’s not Cinco de Mayo in Austin without Johnny Degollado and we’re honored to have him join us at our festival this year at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater on Cinco de Mayo,” said Baldomero “Frank” Cuellar, executive director or Rancho Alegre Radio.

Admission to this event is free and all ages are welcome. This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department and the Texas Commission on the Arts.
