Tejano Conjunto Festival organizers unveiled the poster and preliminary performance lineup for the 2019 edition of the annual event on Wednesday (Feb. 13).
The Guadalupe Culture Arts Center, organizers for the 38th annual Tejano Conjunto Festival, announced the winner of this year’s poster contest as Ciara Casares, a student at Northside ISD’s Communications Arts High School. It’s the first time a high schooler has won the poster competition.
The poster features a mosaic look featuring a dancing couple and two Grammy-winning musicians Flaco Jimenez and Max Baca.

The festival kicks off with a free seniors’ dance from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, May 15 at the Guadalupe Theater, 1301 Guadalupe Street in San Antonio. Followed by the Conjunto Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Thursday, May 16 at 6:00 p.m.
The Tejano Conjunto Festival continues with three days of live music at Rosedale Park, 303 Dartmouth Street, on May 17 – 19. Artists scheduled to perform include Rio Jordan, Los Cucuys de Rodney Rodriguez, Ricky Naranjo y Los Gamblers, JR Gomez y Los Conjunto Bandits, Lazaro Perez, Linda Escobar, Eva Ybarra, Los Texmaniacs with Flaco Jimenez and more to be announced.
