Garza’s first project with CHR Records will be produced by Tejano and Conjunto Hall of Famer Rick Garcia and is slated for release summer 2018.
“I’m looking forward to continuing our musical working relationship,” said Rick Garcia, Co-Founder of Hacienda Records and President of CHR Records Latin. “Ruben and I have been working together for over 40 years and I am very excited to be able to continue our music collaborations.”
“I am very excited to sign with CHR Records Latin and be working with Rick Garcia again,” said Garza. “He worked with me when I was with Los Dos Gilbertos, starting in the 70’s. He knows and understands the style and sound of music I like to make. CHR Records is putting together a strong lineup of Tejano and Conjunto artists and I am very happy to be a part of this label. We will be in the studio in May and plan to have new music out soon.”
Garza is a two-time Hall of Famer, having been inducted in both the Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame and the Texas Conjunto Hall of Fame. He was formerly the lead vocalist for the late Ruben Vela and Los Dos Gilbertos. With over 50 albums to his credit, Garza is in high demand with his own conjunto and is prepared to take his years of experience and pick-up where his predecessors left off.
His CHR affiliation allows Garza to retain his association with long-time producer Garcia, who are poised for great things as the duo continue their 40 year collaboration.
Tejano and Conjunto Hall of Famer, Rick Garcia, hails from Corpus Christi, Texas and is co-founder of Hacienda Records. Rick has produced many hits including Lisa Lopez’s “Si Quieres Verme Llorar” and Ruben Vela’s “Coco Rayado.”
CHR Records is a division of Red Tide Music Group based in Texas and is home to a diverse roster of talent. Their roster represents various musical genres and create inspiring and passionate music that defines the truth of today’s generation.
