Magali Delarosa pays tribute to legendary Mexican singer Juan Gabriel with a cover of one of his greatest hits, “Hasta Que Te Conocí”, in the release of her latest music video on March 6.
“It’s a song created from the heart of the great Juan Gabriel, one of the greatest singer songwriters in the history of music,” Delarosa said.
“Hasta Que Te Conocí” was released in 1986 as the third single from his studio album Pensamientos. It peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot Latin Song chart.
Gabriel passed away from a heart attack at the age of 66 in August 2016.
“I was so moved by his passing and felt that I needed to pay him homage by covering one of his songs, thus the recording and video of one of his greatest hits was produced,” Delarosa added. “It is my humble attempt to thank him for all his great music and keep his name and music before his fans who, like me, will always remember him and his prodigious talent.”
Delarosa released her third album, Amor Barato, in September 2017 featuring 10 amazing songs. The singer, songwriter and fashion designer talked about the album and premiered the title track in a recent episode of the Tejano Nation podcast with Romeo.
