Selena will have her Star unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday and her sister, Suzette Quintanilla, is in Los Angeles this week preparing for event. On Wednesday, she helped place Selena’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“They don’t give this honor to everyone, so I’m beyond honored to be able to participate in the making of it, priceless,” Suzette Quintanilla Arriaga posted on Facebook.
The Star, which is the 2,622nd the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has conferred, will be located at 1750 Vine St. in front of the historic Capitol Records.
It will be unveiled Friday, November 3 and Suzette Quintanilla will accept the star on behalf of her family, officials said.
The ceremony comes about two weeks after Google featured the Queen of Tejano as one of their Google Doodles in celebration of the 28th anniversary of the release of Selena’s first studio album. This helped Selena re-enter Billboard‘s Social 50 chart at No. 14. The Social 50 is powered by data tracked by music analytics company Next Big Sound and ranks the most popular artists on various social media platforms.
