Veronique Medrano gives a sneak peek of Legends of Tejano Music exhibit at Texas State University [VIDEO]

Get a first look of the exhibit that showcases Tejano music from early 1900s to today.

Singer Veronique Medrano gave a sneak peek of the Legends Of Tejano Music exhibit that is showcased as part of the Witliff Collections at the Alkek Library on the campus on Texas State University in San Marcos.

Legends of Tejano Music: Highlights From The Ramón Hernández Archives celebrates the rich history of Tejano music with this exhibit featuring treasured artifacts from the world-class collection of the famed musicologist. The exhibit shows how Tejano music evolved from the early 1900s to present day and how it continues to spin off into new genres.

The exhibition takes visitors on a musical journey of nearly a century, using historic photographs, one-of-a-kind stage outfits, vintage concert posters, rare recordings, artifacts and instruments from legendary stars like Lydia Mendoza, Laura Canales, Freddy Fender, Little Joe Hernández, Sunny Ozuna, Selena, and many more.

The exhibition will be showcased August 7 – December 20, 2017, on the seventh floor of the Alkek Library on the campus of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
