Tejano music legend Jay Perez took to Facebook Live on Tuesday night, using the social media platform for the first time to chat with fans about upcoming projects.
Perez , also known as “La Voz”, told fans to expect new music soon.
“Be on the lookout for our brand new single coming out, brand new album, brand new music, damn good songwriters,” Perez said in the video. “I think you guys are going to be impressed with this next album.”
The crooner gave details on the sound fans could expect from the upcoming album that is currently in pre-production with producer Mario Ortiz.
“We’re going to put a little twist into this album here, because we’re gonna go back to the ’90s, 2000’s feel,” said Perez. “Y’all remember the Steel Rain album, we had ‘Ven A Mi’ and all those wonderful…good songs. We’re gonna to try to get that same feel, that same style of music into this next album.”
The singer also added he’ll be starting a non-profit foundation soon.
“We also have some news, that my wife and I will be sharing with everybody…about the foundation that will be starting real soon,” said Perez. “The Jay Perez Lily of Hope…or For Hope…it’s a cancer foundation. Only my very close friends and family members know why we’re doing this. I lost my grandma Lily to cancer years ago and then my tia Hope that I also lost to cancer. We will be doing something on their behalf.”
Perez plans to do a weekly Facebook Live chat with fans every Tuesday. You can more details at his official band page, @JayPerezAndTheBand.
