Nominations being accepted for STCA 2017 Conjunto of the Year Awards

The South Texas Conjunto Association is now accepting nominations for the STCA 2017 Conjunto of the Year Awards.

The 19th annual STCA Conjunto of the Year Awards are scheduled for Sunday, July 16 at the Full Court Dance Hall in Elsa, Texas.

Anyone can nominate their favorite conjunto in many categories, including Single Of The Year and Album of the Year. Nominations are also accepted for each member of the band, including vocalist, accordion player, drummer, bajo player and bass.

The list will then be tabulated into nominees for the next round of voting and the trophies will be handed out this summer in Elsa.

Last year’s winners included Ricky Naranjo Y Los Gamblers for Conjunto of the Year, The Hometown Boys for Single of the Year for “Ya Me Voy Para Siempre,” Ruben De La Cruz Y Su Conjunto won Album of the Year for Lo Mejor Y Mas.

You can make your nominations for the STCA Conjunto of the Year Awards at the survey  posted here. Criteria for nominations for Conjunto of the Year include must be Texas or Tejano Conjunto style (no norteño), must be an active Conjunto and must have been in existence for more than five years.
