Solido accordionist Eligio Salinas Jr. is recovering after successful brain cancer surgery, according to the band.
Ben DeLeón of Solido posted updates of Salinas’ surgery on Monday (March 6) via his Facebook page.
“Eligio Salinas is now out of surgery & is in recovery,” De León posted. “After 7.5 hrs Drs were able to remove 100% of tumor.. We (SOLIDO) and all of Eligio’s family & friends want to thank every single one of you for your support & prayers!”
Salinas was rushed to a hospital after suffering a seizure on Thursday (Jan. 12) and the musician was diagnosed with two brain tumors a few days later.
The recovery will keep Salinas away from performing and the family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with medical and other expenses.
