Stampede kicked off the 13th Annual Tejano Music National Convention on Friday, August 5 in Las Vegas. The band from Ft. Worth, Texas shared the stage with La Santa Cecilia, Flaco Jimenez, Max Baca, Jimmy Gonzalez Y Grupo Mazz, Raulito Navaira and Remedio.

Tejano Nation contributor Fanny Gurl, from KPYT 100.3 fm in Tucson, Arizona, caught up the the band for an impromptu interview during the event.

Stampede consists of six band members: Rick Torres on lead vocals, J.C. Rios on lead guitar, Miguel Ortega on  keyboards, Richard Cantu on accordion, Jeremy Ramos on the drums, and Ray Sifuentes on the bass.
