Florida-based Tejano artist Joe Zuniga will release “Familias Unidas” on the Fourth of July.
Immigration is a pivotal issue this election year. Unfortunately, a particularly vulnerable and growing segment of our society has been markedly absent from the conversation. Eleven million undocumented immigrants are laboring across the nation, doing jobs that many Americans would not do. Some working in the hot sun and all types of weather to provide food to all of us. This Fourth of July, many of us celebrate with family, we have cook outs, set off fireworks celebrating this nation’s Independence Day.
Joe Zuniga can relate. As a son of seasonal farm workers, he knows too well the struggle of the families who come to the United States seeking the “American Dream” just as the ancestors of all of us here at one point or another came seeking. A life of big and greater opportunities.
Despite facing many challenges in his life Zuniga has managed to succeed in the “American Dream” way beyond the farm! Joe recently graduated from the University Of South Florida. He launched his own marketing career, Zuniga Marketing. He is an award winning recording artist, and an inspirational speaker.
Joe’s latest recording “Familias Unidas” scheduled to be released on the Fourth of July, brings to our attention the plight of farm workers, the sacrifices they make to try and make a better life, and the life that they live in order to live the “American Dream.”
Recent political point of views in the media have encouraged him to record this song that speaks about the truth of immigration and the struggles of immigrant families across the US.

Let us not forget on this Fourth of July what Independence Day is about.
