Grammy-winning producer and musician A.B. Quintanilla III will produce the next album from Florida-based Tejano band Bajo Zero.
Quintanilla announced the news via a live Facebook video on Wednesday night.
“The name of the group is Bajo Zero…they’re really, really good. I’m going to make sure we give ’em a hot sound,” Quantanilla said. “The guys area amazing, they’re super talented. I was able to catch them at the Tejano Music Awards, they kicked ass. I really wanted to work with ’em and we made it happen, so I’m really excited.”
Bajo Zero lead vocalist Juan Jose Rodriguez, the 2015 Tejano Music Awards winner for Best New Male Artist, was excited about teaming with Quintanilla on the project.
“Woke up to some good news this morning, #BajoZero will be working with #ABQuintanilla on our next album what an honor,” Rodriguez posted to Facebook on Thursday. “I’m super excited and can’t wait to hear how everything comes out.”
According to Avalos Recording Group President and CEO Noe Avalos, Bajo Zero’s record label, the deal has been finalized and the band is expected to start pre-production of the album soon with Quintanilla and Luigi Giraldo at The Panic Room Studios in Miami, Florida.
