Siggno has updated the status of bass player Jacob Tuner after he was critically injured in an auto accident on February 8. The band says that Turner is improving but still in critical condition, according to a post on the band’s official Facebook page on Saturday (February 13).
“Once again thank you to everyone for your unconditional support during this difficult time. Jacob’s health has slowly improved but he is still in critical condition. We ask that you continue to keep Jacob in your prayers. We also thank you for respecting our privacy as we continue not to accept visitors at this time. Tus Amigos Para Siempre Siggno”
Turner, the 21-year-old son of Siggno lead vocalist and accordionist Jesse Turner, was critically injured after crashing his vehicle into a guardrail at a high rate of speed early Monday morning in Harlingen, according to witnesses. The collision caused the vehicle to catch fire. Turner was the only person in the vehicle.
Siggno recently postponed a couple of dates on the Una Historia Juntos Tour, a joint tour with Elida Y Avante, days after Turner’s accident.
R Communications radio stations Super Tejano 102.1 and La Ley 102.5 held a candlelight vigil for Turner on Wednesday for fans to pray for the musician’s recovery. Another vigil is planned for San Antonio area fans at Far West night club on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 6:00 p.m., fans are asked to wear the color yellow, a symbol of hope, to the vigil. Far West is located at 2502 Pleasanton Road in San Antonio.
