Former Tejano star Amanda Corral, now a top Houston real estate agent, is giving back to her community with a Back 2 School Giveaway.
Corral made the announcement via her official Facebook page on Thursday.
“Time to GIVE BACK! I am pleased to invite you to enter my 1st annual Back 2 School Giveaway! If you or someone you know is in need of some help to buy school clothes or supplies please email me with your story! I will pick 10 winners to receive a $300 gift certificate! I love my city and I love my people! Every kid deserves a new pair of shoes to start school off on the right foot. I am here to help. Contact me at Amanda@InteroHouston.com.”
Tejano Nation caught up with Corral and asked her what prompted her to offer this great opportunity to families in need.
“I know that this is a stressful time for a lot of parents who live on a budget,” Corral told Tejano Nation. “I recall my mom going thru a couple of hard years and it has always been in my heart to help others, especially single parents like myself.”
Corral has already received many entries since she made the giveaway announcement.
“I have been going thru entries since they started pouring in yesterday. It’s going to be so hard to pick only 10 and for that reason I am attempting to perhaps do more. Working on that as we speak. I didn’t realize how many people I influenced, nor the lack of help there is for them.” she said.
Corral will select the recipients of the gift certificates over the weekend and announce the winners on Monday. The giveaway is open to anyone in need. Email your story of a family in need to Amanda@InteroHouston.com.
