Tejano Idol auditions set for August 9 in Austin

AUSTIN – The next auditions for the 2015 edition of Tejano Idol have been set for August 9, 2015 at Don Dario’s Mexican Restaurant in Austin.

The Austin Tejano Music Coalition, the non-profit organization that sponsors Tejano Idol,  is in search of future Tejano Music stars.  The nationwide singing contest has been initiated to highlight Tejano Music and showcase unknown talent.  Amateur singers of all ages are asked send an email to Aggie Saldana-Sanchez, at aaggie54@yahoo.com, if you plan to attend this audition.

Auditions are from 2:00 til 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Don Dario’s Mexican Restaurant, located at 8801 S. IH 35 in Austin.

More Tejano Idol auditions are set for later this summer in San Antonio. The Tejano Idol finale will take place at H&H Ballroom on October 18, 2015, in Austin at 2:00 p.m.  The Tejano Idol winner will be awarded $500 as well as the opportunity to record in Freddie Records in Corpus Christi.

Past Tejano Idol contestants include 2011 winner Ashley Borrero and 2011 contestant Angel Gonzalez, both now with Angel Gonzalez y Grupo Vimana, 2012 runner-up Devin Banda, 2013 contestant Marisa Cortez and 2014 winner Erica Rangel.
