(AustinVida) – Tonight, Tejano superstar Gary Hobbs returns to Desperados in Kyle. The new club has continued to grow and book the biggest names in Tejano music since opening early this year. Famous for his smooth voice and movie star good looks, the charismatic hitmaker from Eagle Pass is an Austin favorite and frequent performer at Tejano music festivals here in the Live Music Capital of the World.
After beginning his career nearly 30 years ago, Hobbs has worked hard to remain successful and popular in a difficult industry that has seen its ups and downs. In 2001, he began his own independent record label, AMMX Records, which, in addition to Hobbs himself, has recorded other top Tejano acts like The Hometown Boys, Ram Herrera, Grupo Stampede and Grupo Fama, and has expanded to include Norteño, Pop en Español, Cumbias, and Christian Music. While he has had many hits during his career, one of his most popular songs is “Las Miradas.”
Long story short: Gary always brings a crowd with his showmanship and solid, synthesizer-flavored Tejano.
