Next Tejano Idol auditions set for May 17 in Austin

AUSTIN – The next auditions for the 2015 edition of Tejano Idol have been set for May 17, 2015 at Don Dario’s Cantina in Austin.

The Austin Tejano Music Coalition, the non-profit organization that sponsors Tejano Idol, is in search of future Tejano Music stars. The statewide singing contest has been initiated to highlight Tejano Music and showcase unknown talent. Amateur singers of all ages are asked send an email to Aggie Saldana-Sanchez, at aaggie54@yahoo.com, if you plan to attend this audition.

Auditions are from 2:00 til 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Don Dario’s Cantina, located at 8801 South Interstate 35 in Austin.

More Tejano Idol auditions are set for later this summer in Arlington, Fort Worth, Houston and McAllen.

Past Tejano Idol contestants include 2011 winner Ashley Borrero and 2011 contestant Angel Gonzalez, both now with Angel Gonzalez y Grupo Vimana, 2012 runner-up Devin Banda, 2013 contestant Marisa Cortez and 2014 winner Erica Rangel.
