AUSTIN – David Farias and his band were safe after their tour van caught fire near Austin after a gig on Saturday night. Unfortunately, the van and the band’s instruments were lost in the fire.
“Last night, while returning from a gig, our tour van caught fire outside of Austin, TX,” Farias posted on his Facebook page on Sunday. “We are truly blessed to report that all of the band members Lee Perez, Sam Sustaita, Raul Saldivar and I escaped unharmed. Although all of our instruments and van were lost, we know that God was looking out for us, and that they can be replaced. Thank you for your continued support and may God Bless you all!”

The singer and accordionist will keep his commitment to perform at the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair Sunday night at 7:15 p.m at San Saba South stage in San Antonio.
