Mike Villarreal, accordion player and vocalist for Los Desperadoz, had surgery on Tuesday (Aug. 8) to repair a torn rotator cuff.

“It’s an injury he’s had for four years already and after a recent MRI, it shows that his rotator cuff is torn,” the band posted on Facebook. “He will continue to sing however, a good friend of the guys Abel Barajas will be filling in for him on the accordion until his full recovery. We are asking for prayers and for a full speedy recovery.”

Los Desperadoz recently released their latest single, “No Volvere”, a song that features the band’s newest member, Eric Lee, son of Lee Villarreal, on lead vocals. The official music video for “No Volvere” was released on August 8.
