The legacy of one of Tejano music’s most influential families is entering a powerful new chapter with the rise of Cinco F’s, a San Antonio-based group rooted in tradition and fueled by the next generation of talent.
Founded by legendary former La Tropa F members Jaime B. Farias and Jesse B. Farias Sr., Cinco F’s represents more than just a new band—it’s the continuation of a musical bloodline that helped shape the Tejano genre for decades. With a sound that blends Tejano and Conjunto rhythms, infectious cumbias, and heartfelt rancheras, the group is already making waves with a fresh yet familiar style.
“We got bored of being at home,” joked Jaime Farias during a recent appearance on the Jonny Ramirez In The Morning show on San Antonio radio station Tejano 95.7. “But then we started really thinking about it seriously—let’s get back out there and do what we love.”
What began as a simple idea quickly evolved into a full-fledged family project when the founders discovered the vocal talents of the next generation. Araceli Farias and Anthony Farias—children of Jesse Sr.—stepped into the spotlight, bringing youthful energy and natural ability that surprised even their own family.
“I didn’t even know my youngest kid could sing in Spanish,” Jesse Farias Sr. admitted. “When I heard them, I was like, ‘Wow.’ It just felt right.”

Anthony Farias, who previously performed during the final chapter of La Tropa F, embraced the opportunity as both a personal and professional calling.
“They didn’t just hand it to me,” Anthony said. “They told me, ‘We’ll see if you can do it.’ That respect meant everything. I wanted to earn my place.”
The group also features Patsy Marie Farias, who plays a key role behind the scenes handling marketing and digital content, adding a modern edge to the band’s operations while Araceli continues pursuing theater studies at Sam Houston State University.
Cinco F’s has already released several singles, including “Se Alegra Mi Alma,” “Ando Alto,” and “Hoy Para Siempre.” The track “Ando Alto,” written by Jaime Farias, showcases Anthony on lead vocals and reflects a theme of being “high on life and love,” inspired by his own journey into fatherhood.

Musically, the band strikes a balance between past and present. While their roots trace back to the high-energy sound that helped La Tropa F earn four Gold records, one Platinum record, and multiple Grammy nominations, Cinco F’s is carving out its own lane.
“It’s a little more calm, more romantic,” Jaime explained. “Algo diferente. But it still has that feeling that gets people moving.”
For Jesse Farias Sr., the project is about more than music—it’s about legacy, resilience, and passion.
“I’ve had a rough life, but I’m still here,” he said. “And I still love doing this. The music never leaves you.”
As Cinco F’s continues working toward a full album release, their mission is clear: honor the past while building something new for the future of Tejano music.
With talent, experience, and family at its core, Cinco F’s proves that for the Farias name, the music doesn’t just live on—it evolves.
