A global ambassador of conjunto music for more than six decades, Jiménez carried the sound of San Antonio to audiences worldwide while remaining deeply connected to the cultural traditions of his hometown. Reflecting his international influence, musicians from Mexico, Spain, the Netherlands, Japan, and beyond will travel to San Antonio to participate in a historic tribute performance — bringing together one of the most internationally diverse celebrations of conjunto music ever presented in the city.

The tribute will take place Sunday, May 17 at 8:00 p.m. at Rosedale Park and will be hosted and curated by Tejano Conjunto Festival Founder Juan Tejeda and Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center Executive Director Cristina Ballí. Grammy Award–winning ensemble Los Texmaniacs will lead the evening alongside distinguished guest artists representing the global conjunto community. Guest artists performing in the tribute include:  Santiago Jiménez Jr., Dwayne Verheyden (Netherlands), Honorio Imamura (Japan), Antonio Tanguma Jr. (Monterrey, Mexico), Miguel Perez (Spain), Linda Escobar, Arturo Jiménez and Gil Jiménez.

“I think this is one of the best and most diverse, nationally and internationally, musical line-ups we’ve had at the TCF in a long time. I’m excited,” said Festival Founder Juan Tejeda. “No other tribute to Flaco has brought together as many international artists to honor him.”
