Tejano music legend Elsa Garcia is embracing her long-awaited return to the spotlight, opening up about her comeback, unforgettable performances alongside Elida Reyna, and what fans can expect as she headlines major events across Texas and beyond in 2026.
During a candid interview with Fierro HD morning host Bo Corona, Garcia reflected on one of the most emotional moments of her career—joining Reyna on stage during her farewell tour.

“That was an emotional night… to be invited to be on the same stage with Elida was like so cool,” Garcia shared. “Nobody had ever asked me to get on stage… so when she invited me, I didn’t even know how to answer.”
Garcia recalled the overwhelming response from fans during their performances in the Rio Grande Valley and later in San Antonio, describing the experience as “unbelievable.”
“The crowd just went crazy… we just laughed a lot. It was incredible, incredible… a very emotional night.”

A Comeback 25 Years in the Making
After stepping away from the spotlight for more than two decades, Garcia admitted she wasn’t sure what to expect when she returned to the stage in 2024. Her first major performance back—at a packed arena in Monterrey, Mexico—quickly erased any doubts.
“I said, ‘After 25 years, who’s going to remember?’” she recalled. “But that beautiful audience… they sang every single song with me all night long. It blew me away.”
Now fully immersed in her comeback, Garcia says she’s enjoying connecting with fans in a new era shaped by social media.
“Everything is instant… people are going live, and fans who didn’t make it to the show are watching from home. That’s the thrilling part of social media.”
Empowering the Next Generation
Garcia also took time to offer heartfelt advice to aspiring Tejano artists—especially young women looking to break into the industry.
“Don’t think twice. If you feel it in your heart and in your soul, go for it,” she said. “You’re never going to please everybody… so be authentic, be honest, and be true to yourself.”
She emphasized the importance of taking risks and embracing the journey.
“At least one day you’ll look back and say, ‘I tried.’ That’s what matters.”
“Hits Tour 2026” and Major Festival Appearances
Garcia is currently riding the momentum of her “Hits Tour 2026,” a retro-style show featuring her classic songs that helped define her career. Rather than releasing new music, she’s focused on delivering nostalgic performances that resonate across generations.
“Every single song that I do, they’re my songs… we’re doing all the hits,” she explained. “So far, the crowd is happy—and we’re happy.”
Fans will have multiple chances to catch Garcia live in the coming months. She’s set to perform at the Vegas Tejano Takeover in Las Vegas this summer, along with Tejano Explosion in San Antonio on April 19.
She’ll also headline the third annual Tejano Fest at Gomez Western Wear Arena in Mesquite on April 11, sharing the stage with acts like Texas Latino, The David Farias Band, and Los DesperadoZ.
Despite the pressure of headlining multiple major events, Garcia remains grounded and grateful.
“I’m just kind of depending on the people,” she said. “We’ve seen all ages—from little girls dressing like me to longtime fans. It’s a beautiful thing.”
A Legacy That Continues to Inspire
Garcia’s return is more than just a comeback—it’s a celebration of resilience, authenticity, and the enduring power of Tejano music. As she reconnects with audiences old and new, she remains committed to uplifting others in the genre.
“What you see is what you get with me,” Garcia said. “I stand for empowering the Tejanitas… and there’s always room for one more.”
With a renewed passion and a packed tour schedule, Elsa Garcia is proving that her legacy is not only intact—but still growing.
