More than three decades after its original release, the legendary album Live! by the Queen of Tejano music, Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, is making a powerful return for a new generation of listeners.

The GRAMMY-winning concert album has been newly remastered and is now available in immersive Dolby Atmos audio across all major streaming platforms and pressed on 2LP vinyl, picture disc vinyl, Target exclusive vinyl, and CD. The re-release also includes a special treat for longtime fans: a previously unreleased live version of the fan-favorite song “Missing My Baby,” recorded during the historic performance.

Originally released on May 4, 1993, Live! captured the electric atmosphere of a free hometown concert held on February 7, 1993, at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi. The recording showcased Selena’s magnetic stage presence and the powerful connection she shared with thousands of devoted fans in attendance.

Selena’s sister and Q Productions CEO Suzette Quintanilla reflected on the unforgettable night in a recent social media post.

“Listening to this concert takes me back to that nite like if it was yesterday! Would not change a thing about this nite! Who would’ve ever thought we would win a Grammy for this LIVE SHOW!” she wrote.

Upon its release, Live! quickly became a landmark moment for Tejano music. Within its first year, the album was certified Latin gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. It later reached double platinum status in 1995 and an extraordinary eight-times platinum certification in 2017.

The album’s cultural impact was cemented at the 36th Annual Grammy Awards, where Selena won Best Mexican-American Album—making history as the first Tejano artist to earn a GRAMMY in that category. The project also earned major honors at the Billboard Latin Music Awards and the Tejano Music Awards.

Commercially, the album was equally successful. Live! topped Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart, reached No. 2 on Top Latin Albums, and climbed to No. 79 on the Billboard 200—a rare crossover achievement for a Tejano release at the time.

The newly unveiled recording arrives as part of a broader celebration of Selena’s lasting legacy in 2026. Universal Music Latino is spotlighting the singer’s catalog with special releases and commemorations designed to introduce her music to new generations.

Among the biggest highlights this year is the induction of Selena’s groundbreaking album Amor Prohibido into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame. The milestone recognizes the album’s historical and cultural impact and will be celebrated during a special gala on May 8, 2026.

Additional tributes include the display of the Live! album at the GRAMMY Museum as part of the exhibit “From Texas To The World,” highlighting Selena’s influence on music and culture.

Fans can also explore a growing collection of commemorative releases, including 30th-anniversary editions of Dreaming of You and Amor Prohibido on vinyl, CD, and cassette through the official Universal Music Latino shop. Collectors can also find exclusive vinyl pressings of classic albums like Entre A Mi Mundo.

More than 30 years after its debut, Live! remains one of the defining albums in Tejano music history. With the release of this previously unheard performance and immersive remastered audio, fans once again have the chance to experience the energy, passion, and timeless voice that cemented Selena’s legacy as the Queen of Tejano music.
