Max Jr. passed away on February 14, 2026. Aisha shared the devastating news in a social media post the following day.

“With great sadness, we share the passing of our precious son Max Jr., who went home to heaven yesterday morning. Surround us with your prayers and positive thoughts, for we truly need the upliftment; we are devastated and heartbroken. He’ll forever be in our hearts… our family is incomplete,” she wrote. “Rest in peace, sweet son. You will always be our rocker and a shining star in our lives… love you forever Peanut.”

She added, “I am truly saddened… shocked… and heartbroken… extra prayers for my husband Max… Max Jr.’s mom… his sisters… his brother Xavier… and all his family that love him.”

Aisha, a respected voice in Tejano music, began her career as a backup vocalist for Stephanie LynnOscar G, and Ram Herrera, among others. She is currently a member of the Jay Perez Band, led by Tejano icon Jay Perez.

In 2018, she launched her solo career with her debut album, Mi Vida En Cancion, earning a Tejano Music Awards nomination for Best New Female Artist. She most recently released her sophomore album, No Te Preocupes, in December.

Now, the singer and her husband, Max Aparicio, are facing what Jay Perez and his wife, Roxy, described as “the unimaginable loss” of their beloved son.

A GoFundMe was created by Jay and Roxy to assist with funeral expenses.

“Our dear friends turned family, Max and Aisha Aparicio, are facing the unimaginable loss of their beloved son, Max Jr., on February 14, 2026,” the fundraiser reads. “Max Jr. was a radiant light in their lives — full of joy, love, and promise. This heartbreaking and unexpected tragedy has left their world forever changed.

“During this incredibly difficult time, we are humbly asking for your support to help cover funeral expenses. Max and Aisha have always been kind, generous, and loving to everyone around them. Now it’s our turn to surround them with that same love and support.”

In an emotional social media video, Max and Aisha thanked supporters for the overwhelming response.

“We wanted to go live to thank everyone for the donations that have been sent, and the overwhelming show of love and support in this most difficult time,” Max said. “We want to thank Jay and Roxy Perez for setting this in motion, and Ram and Lize Herrera for the phone call this morning… no matter how small the donation, it’s been from your heart, and we know that it is.”

Fighting back tears, he added a heartfelt reminder to parents everywhere: “Embrace your kids. Love them and hold them and tell them that you love them. The last thing that my son told me that night was, ‘Hey, give me a hug.’ So don’t wait for them to ask for a hug. You go hug them.”

Aisha echoed her husband’s gratitude.

“It’s been a difficult last few days. This was not expected. We’re very devastated, and I have no words,” she shared. “We appreciate all the love and the condolences… We weren’t going to do the GoFundMe. Me and Max really don’t ask anybody for anything. When you lose a child… you don’t expect them to die. I just want to say thank you to each and every one of y’all.”

Donations to assist with funeral and memorial expenses can be made through the GoFundMe page at https://gofund.me/6d5b9be54, via Cash App at $lifeisaisha77, or through Zelle at 210-834-4403.

As the Tejano community continues to rally around the Aparicio family, one message rings loud and clear: in times of unimaginable loss, familia stands together.
