SAN ANTONIO, TX — The Tejano and conjunto community is coming together in a big way to support the Campos family of the Conjunto Cats after a devastating house fire earlier this month left their home unlivable.
On February 11, 2026, Art and Linda Campos experienced a tragic loss when their residence caught fire due to an electrical malfunction, according to a GoFundMe page established to assist the family. Thankfully, no one was injured. However, the damage was severe, and the family now faces significant out-of-pocket expenses as they begin the long road to recovery and repairs.
To help ease the burden, a benefit concert is set for Sunday, March 1, 2026, at VFW Post 9186, located at 650 VFW Blvd in San Antonio near Mission County Park. The event is being organized with the support of Jerry Benavides and KEDA Radio, calling on the community to rally behind a family that has consistently given back through their music and charitable efforts.
Doors open at 2 p.m., with music beginning at 3 p.m. and continuing through 10 p.m. A $20 per person donation is requested at the door, with proceeds going directly to the Campos family.
The powerful lineup scheduled to appear includes Santiago Garza y La Naturaleza, Lazaro Perez, Conjunto Romo, Javier Solis y Los Unikoz, Conjunto Solis, Flavio Longoria, Mambo Conjunto Champ, Jonny Martinez, Chente Barrera, David Farias, David Lee Garza, Raulito Navaira, and DJ Chuko Productions — a true showcase of conjunto and Tejano talent united for a cause.
Based in Seguin, Texas, the Conjunto Cats have built a reputation for keeping traditional conjunto and música norteña alive. Led by Art Campos, the family-centered group features his sons and close relatives, delivering energetic performances driven by accordion, bajo sexto, and drums. Known for their original polkas and classic covers, the band has long been a staple at dances, festivals, and community events across Texas.
Now, it’s the community’s turn to give back.
“Let’s all get together and help the guys that are always donating their time to help others,” organizers shared, urging fans and fellow musicians alike to come out and show their support.
For those unable to attend but wishing to contribute, a GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist with immediate needs and recovery efforts.
In true conjunto fashion, this benefit promises not just a day of great music, but a powerful reminder that in times of hardship, the Tejano community stands strong — juntos y unidos.
