Premios Tejano Mundial 2026 Announces Lifetime Achievement Honorees, Star-Studded Performers, and Final Five Nominees

San Antonio, Texas — The Academy of Tejano Music has officially unveiled key details for La Sexta Entrega de Los Premios Tejano Mundial, one of the most anticipated nights in Tejano music. The 2026 awards ceremony is set for Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the San Antonio Shrine Auditorium (901 N Loop 1604 Acc Rd., San Antonio, Texas). The red carpet will open at 5 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m.

Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees

The Academy of Tejano Music will honor two towering figures whose impact has shaped generations of Tejano artists and fans:

Freddie Martinez Sr. — Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning founder of Freddie Records, whose visionary leadership helped elevate Tejano music onto national and international stages.
Roger Hernandez — Respected industry veteran and founder of the Totally Tejano Hall of Fame and Museum, recognized for his dedication to preserving the genre’s rich history and cultural significance.

Adding to the excitement, an impressive lineup of performers will bring live energy to the Premios Tejano Mundial stage, including:

Conjunto Cats, Los Arcos Hermanos Peña, Elijah Ezekiel, Bianca Ruiz, Luis AG, and Los Heartbreakers

This year’s nominations reflect a highly competitive field that blends veteran excellence with modern evolution. Asalto and Jai Sterling lead all nominees with five nominations each, underscoring their broad influence across multiple styles and disciplines within Tejano music. Close behind are several standout artists earning four nominations apiece, including Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia, Stefani Montiel, Gary Hobbs, and Jesse Turner of Siggno, highlighting a year that showcases both the genre’s established stars and its forward momentum.
