Tejano recording artist Ruby Anne ended 2025 with undeniable momentum, proudly reigning as La Catrina 2025 while releasing her highly anticipated new single and music video, “Mal de Amores.” The powerful track features fellow Rio Grande Valley Tejano force and sister-in-music Magali Delarosa, a collaboration already being hailed as one of the hottest female duets in Tejano music today.
Produced by Mario Ortiz Jr. of Studio830, “Mal de Amores” is a bold, empowering anthem that speaks directly to women navigating heartbreak, betrayal, and personal growth. The song highlights Ruby Anne’s commanding vocal presence while perfectly complementing Magali Delarosa’s emotive and versatile style. Together, they deliver a message of resilience, confidence, and independence that resonates far beyond genre lines.
In an interview with Syrius Tejano, Ruby Anne opened up about teaming up with Magali Delarosa for the project, sharing, “I had the song in mind and knew it was perfect for women empowerment. I sent it to Magali, and she loved it. We’re from the RGV—we have to bring it. This song isn’t just for Hispanic women; it’s for all women. We all relate to heartbreak, betrayal, and being there for each other. Empowering each other and making sure we’re okay mentally—that’s what this song is about.”
Magali Delarosa echoed that same sense of sisterhood and excitement in a recent conversation with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, calling the collaboration long overdue and deeply personal. “Oh my gosh, it was so awesome. We had been wanting to do a song together forever, and we finally got in the studio with Mario O. in San Antonio,” Delarosa shared. She also spoke fondly of filming the music video in Brownsville, describing it as an unforgettable experience filled with “outfits, glitter, and glam.”
Beyond the visuals, Delarosa emphasized the genuine bond behind the project. “It’s always fun to do projects with people that you care for and admire, and she’s somebody that I definitely care for and admire. We’re best friends, so it was really fun,” she said with a laugh, comparing the duo to the iconic comedy pair. “We’re like Lucy and Ethel—always cracking jokes and getting into trouble together.”
The chemistry between Ruby Anne and Magali Delarosa translates effortlessly on screen and in the studio, adding an authentic layer to “Mal de Amores” that fans can both hear and feel—further cementing the release as a standout moment for women-led collaborations in Tejano music.
The world premiere of the “Mal de Amores” music video took place at Mel’s HonkyTonk N Grill in Brownsville, Texas, Ruby Anne’s hometown. The celebration brought together fans, industry professionals, and community leaders for a night that honored both music and culture. Adding to the excitement, the premiere included a surprise video appearance by Juan Mendoza Jr. of Tejano TV’s Más Chingón Radio and The 3 Amigos Show, along with legendary Tejano artist Dee Burleson (CULTURAS). Their heartfelt words of encouragement left a lasting impression on the audience and continue to inspire both artists as they share this women-empowering release.
Balancing her growing music career with her dedication to law enforcement, Ruby Anne is already looking ahead to 2026, where she is actively working on her sophomore album—signaling an exciting new chapter in her artistic journey.
The visually striking music video was brought to life by Film Producer & Director Baldemar Garcia of 1st Class Cinema, with Carlos Garcia and Michelle L. Garcia serving as Film Production Managers. The polished visuals were further elevated by Celebrity Makeup Artist Cesar Villarreal and Celebrity Hair Stylist Leslie Leija.
