PASADENA, Texas — Veteran bandleader and musician Luis Ayala has officially announced the return of La Fiebre, unveiling a reintroduced version of the iconic brand under the banner “The Ones You Know.” Framed not as a reunion but as a recalibration, the new La Fiebre is built on decades of experience, musical chemistry, and a renewed commitment to authenticity and performance excellence.
“This is not a reunion—it’s a recalibration,” Ayala said in a statement. “As a band of brothers, we unite. This is about honoring the music, the fans, and the legacy—while moving forward with integrity and purpose.”
Rooted deeply in the Tejano tradition, La Fiebre blends classic influences with modern performance power, delivering a polished, high-energy show anchored by elite musicianship and a powerful live presence. Featuring commanding brass, electrifying accordion, dynamic vocals, and a tight rhythm section, the band aims to bring unforgettable performances to stages across Texas and beyond.
La Fiebre Lineup:
- Luis Ayala — Owner | Trumpet | Sax | Keyboard | Backup Vocals
- Angel Cantu (13 years with La Fiebre) — Lead Vocalist | Songwriter
- Julian Gonzalez (21 years with La Fiebre) — Accordion | Keyboard | Lead Backup Vocals
- Jonas Flores (9 years with La Fiebre) — Trumpet | Sax | Backup Vocals
- Joe Lara (5 years with La Fiebre) — Percussion
- Gene Luna (4 years with La Fiebre) — Drums
- Junior Cantu (33 years in the industry) — Bass

The announcement arrives amid broader developments involving the La Fiebre name. In December, co-owners Rudy Rocha and Joe Angel Reynosa confirmed to Tejano Nation that they are currently involved in litigation with Ayala, highlighting the complex internal matters surrounding the long-running group.
Formed in Pasadena, Texas, in 1985, La Fiebre rose to prominence in the 1990s with electrifying live performances, bold brass arrangements, and a signature fusion of Tejano, rock, and big band influences. The band delivered enduring hits such as “Borracho de Besos,” “El Amor Se Acaba,” and “Eres Mi Primer Amor,” earning Grammy nominations, chart success, and a fiercely loyal fanbase spanning nearly four decades.
In 2025, La Fiebre celebrated its 40th anniversary, released the album Raíces, and signed a new recording deal with the legendary Freddie Records, underscoring the enduring power of the brand within Tejano music.

As La Fiebre steps into its next chapter, Ayala and his lineup aim to balance respect for the past with a forward-focused vision—one driven by legacy, experience, and the unmistakable sound that made the band a Tejano powerhouse.
