One of Mexico’s most legendary norteño bands — Los Tigres del Norte — is crossing into animated history with a special appearance on The Simpsons, performing a brand-new original song written exclusively for the long-running series.

The episode, titled “The Fall Guy-Yi-Yi,” airs this Sunday on FOX and features the iconic band performing an original corrido called “El Corrido de Pedro y Homero.” Unlike past musical cameos that relied on existing recordings, this collaboration delivers fresh music created specifically for the episode, blending the storytelling tradition of corridos with the humor and heart of Springfield.

In the episode, Los Tigres del Norte appear as animated versions of themselves, performing live on stage while Homero Simpson and Pedro — better known to fans as Bumblebee Man — enjoy the show. The corrido recaps the episode’s storyline, in which Homer becomes the secret stunt double for Bumblebee Man, turning a classic Simpsons plot into a musical narrative rooted in Mexican tradition.

The collaboration was officially announced on Friday, December 26, 2025, by FOX and the band through social media and press outlets, quickly generating excitement across both music and television fans.

A Cultural Moment for Latino Representation

For decades, Los Tigres del Norte have been more than entertainers. Their music has chronicled migration, identity, border life, and the resilience of comunidad, making them cultural historians through song. Their appearance on The Simpsons marks one of the rare times a classic Mexican group headlines an original musical moment on one of the most-watched animated series in the world.

Episode writer and co-executive producer Cesar Mazariegos described the installment as a “tip of the hat” and a “love letter” to the show’s Latin American and Mexican fan base — a sentiment reflected in the episode’s music, guest talent, and storytelling approach.

In addition to Los Tigres del Norte, the episode also features notable Mexican voices, including Academy Award-winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu and Humberto Vélez, the iconic Latin American voice actor for Homer Simpson.

“Stories That Cross Borders”

In a statement shared with Rolling Stone, Los Tigres del Norte reflected on the significance of the crossover:
“For us, it’s an honor that our stories continue to cross borders, cultures, and generations.”

Promotional images released ahead of the episode show the animated band performing on a Springfield stage, with Homer and Pedro front and center — a visual symbol of cultures meeting through music and humor.

From norteño rhythms to corrido storytelling, Los Tigres del Norte bringing their sound to Springfield isn’t just a cameo — it’s a cultural milestone. When Mexican music and American pop culture collide with respect and creativity, the result is something truly memorable.
