Magali Delarosa is closing out the year in vibrant style with the release of her new music video, “Joaquín,” a lively cumbia from her album Flor Y Diamante that pairs infectious rhythm with striking, vintage-inspired visuals.

Speaking with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, Delarosa shared that from the very beginning, she envisioned a video that would reflect the song’s joyful energy.

‘Joaquín’ is one of our bright cumbias from my album ‘Flor Y Diamante’ and I just really wanted to do a video that matched the energy of the song,” Delarosa said. “It’s just very fun and very fun to dance to.

The creative direction for the video took a nostalgic turn thanks to a family suggestion that sparked the entire aesthetic.

Back when we were recording the song my dad came up with the idea—he’s like, you should have zoot suiters in there and you should do like a pachuco vibe,” she explained. “I really liked that idea.

That inspiration led Delarosa to lean fully into late-1940s style, outfitting her band in classic pachuco looks complete with chains and tailored details, while she embraced a glamorous, vintage persona with carefully styled hair and multiple fashion-forward looks. One standout ensemble features a striking white burlesque-inspired outfit accented with feathers.

I always like to have one look where I’m very glamorous, and that one was it,” she said. “It was a labor of love.

True to her hands-on approach, Delarosa personally customized the outfits for her band and backup dancers, and even constructed the elaborate headpiece herself—a process that required more than a little trial and error.

I had to do a couple of test runs because I was like, what if I get there and it falls off? It was crazy—but it was worth it,” she laughed.

The white look ultimately became the centerpiece for the video’s cover art, chosen intentionally for its festive feel.

I thought it would be perfect with the red and the white for Christmas,” Delarosa said.

Fans will also notice a recurring symbol woven throughout the visuals: roses.

I always love to put stuff with roses because my last name is Delarosa,” she shared. “I just love roses—I think they’re so beautiful—so I try to always put them in my videos.

I’m already very motivated for the new year,” she said. “It’s exciting.

Beyond music, Delarosa is also expanding her creative footprint in fashion, teasing plans for a February fashion show following the success of a recent event.

As “Joaquin” proves, Magali Delarosa continues to blend music, culture, and couture into a signature style that’s all her own—setting the tone for an ambitious and inspired year ahead.
