The legendary Tejano band La Fiebre has shared a statement with Tejano Nation to address recent speculation, clarify ownership, and correct misinformation surrounding internal matters involving the group.
In the statement, the band confirms its founding and ownership structure, emphasizing transparency and accountability moving forward. Joe Reynosa and Rudy Rocha are the co-founders of La Fiebre. Joe Reynosa, Luis Ayala and Rudy Rocha are the co-owners for La Fiebre.
The co-founders requested that the following statement be released in full as its official public announcement:
Statement from La Fiebre via attorney:
“Over the past several months, there has been public speculation and misinformation regarding internal matters involving our band and one of our members, Luis Ayala. We are issuing this statement for the sake of truth and accountability.
At this time, the band is involved in ongoing litigation with Luis Ayala. Because of that process, we have largely remained silent. However, recent actions and public statements have made it necessary to clarify the situation and protect the integrity of the band.
In the fall of this year, the band made personnel changes after ongoing performance issues, breakdowns in communication, and repeated conduct that disrupted live shows and internal operations. These decisions were made by ownership after careful consideration and were within our authority as owners and managers of the band. Despite these challenges, the band continued to perform at a high level and was honored with a ‘Band of the Year’ award in 2025. Unfortunately, ongoing internal conflict and disregard for ownership decisions created unnecessary tension even during moments meant to celebrate that success.
We want to be clear that these matters are not about personal disputes. They are about professionalism, respect, and the ability to operate a functioning business. The band has always acted in good faith and in the best interest of the group as a whole.
We are releasing this statement solely to correct the record. We will allow the legal process to address the dispute and will not engage in further public back-and-forth. Our focus remains on our music, our fans, and moving forward with clarity and accountability.
We would also like to inform the public that it has been our agreement that band members and co-owners do not negotiate contracts independently for the band. All bookings must go through our booking manager, Jim Luna, who is responsible for securing performance opportunities and handling contracts for La Fiebre. You may reach Jim Luna at 979-665-1923 and his email address is lunaqmp@yahoo.com for band bookings, interviews, promos and information. He is the authorized representative of the band.
We appreciate the continued support. Please stay tuned for more announcements for La Fiebre.”

La Fiebre remains one of the most iconic and influential bands in Tejano music history. Formed in Pasadena, Texas, in 1986, the band rose to prominence in the 1990s with a powerful and distinctive blend of Tejano, rock, and big band influences. Their electrifying live performances, bold brass arrangements, and emotionally driven lyrics earned them Grammy nominations, chart-topping hits, and a devoted fanbase that has endured for nearly four decades.
With classic songs such as “Borracho de Besos,” “El Amor Se Acaba,” and “Eres Mi Primer Amor,” La Fiebre cemented its place among Tejano music’s elite acts and pioneers.
In 2025, the band celebrated its 40th anniversary, released its latest album Raíces, and was honored with Tejano Band of the Year at the Guadalupe Awards in San Antonio. La Fiebre also recently signed a new recording deal with the legendary Freddie Records, signaling a continued commitment to new music and the next chapter of its storied legacy.
As the band moves forward, La Fiebre says its priority remains unchanged: the music, the fans, and preserving the integrity of a legacy built over nearly four decades.
