Chris Perez, renowned guitarist and Grammy winner, is turning up the heat in the kitchen with the release of his latest hot sauce, Lava Caliente. Part of his popular Perez Pepper Sauce Collection, Lava Caliente is described as his hottest sauce yet, boasting a staggering one million Scoville units of heat.
The fiery new flavor draws inspiration from Perez’s track “Lava Caliente” off his Grammy-winning album Resurrection, and features a lava lamp-inspired design that mirrors the sauce’s explosive, molten intensity.
“Welp, we did it again on Planéta Perez! Me and the team at @perezpeppersauce are ready to release the latest flavor of my hot sauce line…This is my hottest sauce yet, Lava Caliente! Taking its name from a track on my Grammy-winning album Resurrection, Lava Caliente is a lava-lamp style eruption of flavor and volcanic heat,” Perez shared on social media. “We’ve got our Original, Jalapeño, and Habanero flavors, but Lava Caliente is in a league of its own…made with one million Scoville units of raw capsaicin designed for the true spice lover.”
Lava Caliente joins Perez’s growing lineup of award-winning sauces, which includes Original, Jalapeño, and Habanero flavors, each hotter than the last. In a recent interview with Fox 26 Houston, Perez emphasized the sauce’s extreme heat:
“It looks like a lava lamp effect…each one has gotten hotter than the one before it. So you can imagine, this is made out of the same stuff they put in pepper spray. You’ve got to be careful with it. It’s really hot.”
This limited-edition sauce is available online at HotShots Inc., just in time for Thanksgiving and the holiday season. Fans and spice enthusiasts are encouraged to grab their bottles quickly before it sells out.
With Lava Caliente, Chris Perez is proving that his creativity doesn’t stop at music—he’s now orchestrating volcanic flavor experiences for the kitchen.
