Jennifer Peña has given fans a taste of something special, releasing a teaser of the acoustic version of her cumbia “Cuidado Carnal,” one of the standout tracks from her triumphant comeback album Superación. The full acoustic rendition is set to premiere November 19 on her official YouTube channel.
“Cuidado Carnal” holds a meaningful creative tie between Peña and co-writer Machy De La Garza, founder and lead singer of the Grammy-nominated all-girl cumbia band La Conquista. The two artists first crossed paths in the early 2000s while working under Q Productions, forging a musical sisterhood that continues to flourish more than two decades later. De La Garza also co-wrote “Malo” from Superación, a track that helped propel the album to No. 1 on the iTunes Latin Albums Chart within hours of its release on October 31—marking an emotional victory for Peña as she reclaims her place in Tejano and Latin pop.
Superación is Peña’s first studio album since 2007’s Dicen Que El Tiempo, closing a powerful 16-year chapter focused on family, personal growth, and self-discovery. Since relaunching her musical career in 2023, the singer has released a steady line of fan-favorite singles, including the heart-wrenching ballad “Atada” and the bold cumbia-pop anthem “Wakala,” signaling her long-awaited return with renewed purpose and unmistakable passion.
Known worldwide as the “Princess of Tejano,” Jennifer Peña’s career has spanned generations, beginning with her breakout success leading Jennifer y Los Jetz and continuing with timeless hits like “El Dolor de Tu Presencia,” “Abrázame y Bésame,” and “Hasta el Fin del Mundo.” With more than 10 million records sold and both GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY nominations, Peña remains one of the most influential and cherished voices in Tejano music.
Peña is also back on the road with her El Camino Tour, continuing November 22 in Odessa, Texas, before heading to Monterrey, Mexico on December 13. The tour extends into 2026 with Texas dates in Midland, Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas, as well as stops across the U.S., including Florida, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.
With the massive success of Superación and new music already exciting fans, Jennifer Peña is proving once again that her reign is far from over—she’s only just beginning the next chapter of her iconic legacy.
