LOS ANGELES — Discos Musart has unveiled its first-ever official merchandise collaboration, teaming up with Los Angeles-based streetwear brand Brown N Proud to celebrate the legacy of the legendary Chalino Sánchez. The exclusive drop features three brand-new designs—two premium heavyweight T-shirts and a hoodie—each showcasing imagery of Chalino and his iconic title, “El Rey del Corrido” (“The King of the Corrido”).
Created by Brown N Proud founder and designer Carlos A. Guzman, the collection is available now exclusively through the Brown N Proud and Discos Musart online stores, the only official retailers licensed to sell authentic Chalino Sánchez merch.
“Brown N Proud isn’t just a brand, it’s a reminder that our roots run deep, our culture is rich, and our people are powerful. We wear our story with pride,” said Guzman. The collaboration merges two worlds driven by cultural pride—fans who live and breathe Mexican music and those who express their heritage through fashion.

Rooted in streetwear style and crafted from premium materials, Brown N Proud has become a modern symbol of authenticity and resilience. Guzman, a Mexican designer and lifelong music lover, first imagined the brand in high school as a tribute to culture and community. His work continues that mission today, empowering fans to represent their roots while giving back—often donating a portion of proceeds to causes close to his heart. That commitment to realness mirrors the spirit that made Chalino Sánchez a legend.
Born in Sinaloa, Chalino Sánchez forged his legacy from lived experience—first penning corridos after the murder of his brother Armando, and eventually building a grassroots following across Mexico and the U.S. His raw voice and unapologetic storytelling pioneered the narcocorrido movement long before it became mainstream. After selling his music independently, Chalino later signed with Discos Musart, releasing chart-topping albums such as Alma enamorada and Nieves de enero, along with classics including “Prenda del alma,” “Los chismes,” “El pitallón,” “El navegante,” “Una tarde,” and “El pávido Návido.”
Over 30 years after his passing, Chalino remains one of the most influential figures in Mexican music—revered as a cultural icon and widely considered the Godfather of the Corrido. His life and legacy continue to inspire new generations, with major artists like Peso Pluma, Natanael Cano, and Fuerza Regida crediting his influence as they push corridos to unprecedented global heights. His story has also been explored through the hit podcast Ídolo: The Ballad of Chalino Sánchez and the Televisa/Univision docuseries Nunca Tuvo Miedo on Vix.
The collaboration between Discos Musart and Brown N Proud celebrates that ongoing legacy—bridging decades of musical impact with modern cultural expression.
