KNON Radio and the Tejano community are mourning the loss of David “DJ Roc D” Nuncio III, who passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the age of 52.
A devoted member of the KNON family, Roc D was more than just a voice on the airwaves—he was a tireless supporter of “the Voice of the People,” both behind the mic and in the community. At countless KNON benefits, he was one of the first to arrive and the last to leave, always lending his energy to help make every event a success.
Fans and friends fondly recall Roc D’s larger-than-life personality, whether he was mixing music while driving his truck in Mardi Gras and State Fair parades—tossing beads with a smile—or hosting his Saturday afternoon Super Tejano Show. Each week, he filled the airwaves with the very best in Tejano while delivering an upbeat, entertaining program that listeners came to love and depend on.
His radio co-hosts shared a heartfelt tribute: “His spirit, his laughter, and love will echo in our hearts. Though you’re no longer here, your memory lives on in every Tejano and Conjunto beat of every song. Rest in Peace Roc D!”
Roc D’s immense love for his listeners and unmatched talent as a DJ made him a true pillar of the Dallas Tejano scene. His presence, both on and off the air, leaves an unforgettable legacy.
