Acclaimed vocalist Rachel Rodriguez proudly unveils her latest single, “Mr. Moon”, a soulful tribute to her Texas-Mexican heritage. Produced by Grammy-nominated Eddie Gore, known for his work with Steve Cropper, and featuring Grammy Award-winning accordionist and producer Ernie Gonzales, the track delivers a warm fusion of Tex-Mex, Tejano, and Conjunto traditions with the timeless charm of Nashville’s classic sound.
Recorded at the legendary Historic RCA Studio in Nashville, “Mr. Moon” captures the intimate storytelling spirit of Texas borderland music while embracing the rich sonic atmosphere of Music City’s most iconic recording space. Rachel’s emotive vocals, paired with Ernie’s masterful musicianship, create a sound that feels both deeply rooted in tradition and refreshingly modern.
“Growing up with the rhythms and melodies of my Texas-Mexican culture, I’ve always felt a responsibility to keep that spirit alive,” Rachel shared. “Recording ‘Mr. Moon’ in such a historic space, with Ernie’s artistry guiding the process, felt like bridging my roots with a city I now call home.”
Gonzales, whose decorated career includes multiple Grammy-winning projects, brings a depth of authenticity to the song, honoring a cultural lineage rarely heard in Nashville but resonant with audiences everywhere.
Under the guidance of La Cara Productions — a company devoted to preserving and promoting Tex-Mex, Tejano, and Conjunto music in Nashville — Rachel continues to champion the presence of these vibrant genres in new spaces.
“Mr. Moon” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
