HARLINGEN, TX — Funeral services have been announced for Narcisa Cortez Ruiz, the beloved mother of Siggno frontman Jesse Turner, who passed away on Monday, August 25, at the age of 86.
The Latin Grammy-winning singer shared the heartbreaking news of his mother’s passing in an emotional statement on social media on Tuesday (Aug. 26).
“I can’t find the words to express how I feel right now,” Turner wrote in Spanish. “Went to my mom’s house yesterday and she served me and my brother Lucky one last time. We talked about Bible text with Alexa. She was perfectly fine and I said, ‘I love you Mom, I’ll look at you later’… and I didn’t expect this moment to be the last time. My mother went to rest with the Lord yesterday and I feel a pain that only those who have lived it will understand. I’m devastated, I’m heartbroken, but I have peace in God, I find peace in my family, I find peace with you who always saw my mother as a beautiful loving memory.”
The heartfelt post included photos from his final evening with his mother, alongside close friend and fellow Tejano star Lucky Joe, who also once lived with Turner and his mom.
Turner shared a deep bond with his mother, who was often seen praying over him at concerts and performances. She was not only a guiding force in his personal life but also a profound inspiration in his music. One of his most cherished songs, “Mamá,” was written as a heartfelt tribute to her.
