SAN ANTONIO, TX — LA 45 and Tejano legend El Gato Negro Ruben Ramos have released “La Historia,” the second single from their acclaimed album Vol. 1: Recordando El León de la Sierra. Since the album’s debut on May 8, it has earned glowing praise and steady streaming traction across digital platforms.
The song is a soulful tribute to the late Chicano music pioneer Alfonso Ramos, whose innovative blend of Mexican, jazz, R&B, and rock elements helped define the Tejano sound. With LA 45’s bold, brass-driven orquesta arrangements paired with Ruben’s stirring vocal performance, “La Historia” captures both the emotion of Alfonso’s legacy and the Ramos brothers’ powerful musical reunion.
The project’s cultural and artistic impact has already reached a milestone — the album has been officially submitted for Latin Grammy consideration. The recognition reflects not only its critical success but also the importance of preserving and celebrating Chicano and Tejano musical heritage.
Vol. 1: Recordando El León de la Sierra marks the first time Ruben Ramos has recorded alongside his brother Joe Ramos in more than a decade, making the tribute both musically and emotionally resonant.
Fans can stream “La Historia” and the full album now on all major platforms, while physical CDs are available at la45music.com.
