Two of the most iconic voices in Tejano music history—Adalberto Gallegos and Jay Perez—have joined forces for a heartfelt new version of the 1970s Tejano/Chicano classic, “El Cisne.” This powerful duet brings together the former Latin Breed lead vocalists for the first time in decades, honoring their roots and the legacy of the late, great Tejano producer Bob Gallarza, who produced the track.
“El Cisne” is the lead single from Adalberto Gallegos’ upcoming album Duets, Collabs y Más, a 17-track collection celebrating collaborations with some of the genre’s most respected artists. Mastered by Ralph Garcia of the Music Factory and distributed by SoSouth.com, the single is now available for purchase on all major digital platforms.
The full CD will make its official debut at the Vegas Tejano Takeover 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada, set for July 11 and 12 at the Westgate Casino & Hotel. Fans will be able to purchase physical copies of Duets, Collabs y Más at Adalberto’s booth during the event. On Saturday, July 12, Adalberto will take the stage alongside his son’s band, Tejano 520, at the highly anticipated Vegas Showcase.
Adalberto Gallegos, known for his smooth, soul-infused vocal style, rose to fame as one of the most beloved frontmen of the legendary Latin Breed during the 1980s and ’90s. With a career spanning over four decades, Gallegos has earned acclaim for his dynamic stage presence and timeless recordings. Jay Perez, often called “The Voice,” is equally celebrated for his velvet tone and powerful ballads. As a solo artist and former Latin Breed vocalist, Perez has built a reputation as one of the most enduring and respected figures in Tejano music.
With “El Cisne,” these two powerhouse vocalists not only pay tribute to their shared musical past, but also deliver a masterclass in Tejano excellence—reminding fans why their voices remain among the most iconic in the genre.
