LAREDO, TX — As the sun sets on a remarkable 34-year career in Tejano music, two-time Latin Grammy-winning icon Elida Reyna is taking a final bow with her highly anticipated Farewell Tour. The celebrated vocalist, who has earned more than 40 Tejano Music Awards, is making her final appearances at venues across the country, offering fans one last chance to sing along with her signature hits.
One of the tour’s unforgettable stops came in Laredo, where Reyna performed at the Casablanca Event Center to a sold-out crowd. The energy was electric as fans belted out beloved classics like “Duele” and “Luna Llena,” transforming the show into a powerful, emotional celebration of Elida’s legacy. Reyna shared videos of the night’s priceless moments on social media, giving fans memories to treasure for years to come.
Reflecting on her journey during an interview with Domingo Live host Barbi Leo, Elida explained her decision to step back from the stage:
“I just thought it was time,” she said. “I’ve had an amazing career — 34 years, over 40 awards, two Grammys. I feel like I’ve pretty much done it all… I’m happy. I’m content. And now it’s time to spend time with my family.”
Elida’s Farewell Tour is already in full swing and will culminate in a grand hometown show at the Bert Ogden Arena in the Rio Grande Valley on November 8. The concert promises a star-studded lineup of special guests and a celebration of Elida’s legacy, serving as a heartfelt thank-you to the fans who have supported her since the beginning. A finale for the tour is also set for December in San Antonio.
More than the awards and accolades, Elida hopes to be remembered for her impact on people’s lives:
“I want to be remembered as a good person. Someone who made a difference. Someone who felt like family through music,” she shared.
As she embarks on this final chapter of faith, family, and reflection, Elida Reyna leaves behind not just a catalog of timeless hits but also a legacy of authenticity, strength, and grace.
“I love my fans so much,” she said. “They’ve given me more than I ever dreamed. I’m forever grateful.”
