Tejano legend Raulito Navaira is on the road to recovery following an emergency spinal surgery, and he’s reaching out to fans with heartfelt gratitude for their overwhelming support. Over a week after undergoing a life-saving procedure, the beloved singer-songwriter shared an emotional update via a video on social media, letting fans know he’s staying strong and optimistic.
“I just wanted to thank everybody for your support, for your well wishes, for your prayers, and believe me—it helped me a lot,” Raulito said in the video message. “I had emergency back surgery because I had an abscess on my spinal cord and I was really in a lot of pain.”
The Tejano icon, known for his energetic performances and warm connection with fans, explained that the health scare was more complicated than initially believed. In addition to the spinal abscess, Raulito also had an infected toe, which required its own procedure. “I know y’all see me with a boot for a while, and that was part of it,” he explained.
Currently recovering in the hospital and undergoing physical therapy, Raulito assured fans that he is making progress. “I’m okay, I’m okay, I’ll be all right. I have a lot of faith,” he said. “Again, thank you so much to all my family, friends, all the fans. It’s been incredible, the response, and I love you all.”
Raulito’s daughter, Destiny Navaira—a two-time Tejano Music Awards Female Vocalist of the Year and Latin Grammy nominee—has launched a GoFundMe campaign titled Support Raulito on His Healing Journey to help with the mounting medical and recovery expenses.
“I come to my fans, family, and friends to ask for help,” Destiny wrote on the campaign page. “My Dad, Raulito, has undergone an emergency spinal surgery which will include a long recovery period and around-the-clock care. My dad has given his time and love to many in need, so we ask at this time to support him when he needs it most.”
The campaign is now live and accepting donations. Fans can contribute and share the link to help lift the financial burden off the Navaira family during this challenging time.
