
LUBBOCK, TX — The West Texas Lifetime Music Awards made history on March 22, 2025, as the first-ever Tejano and Conjunto award show in Lubbock, Texas. Hosted by West Texas Tejano Explosion and 22 Entertainment, the groundbreaking event brought together over 500 attendees at the elegant Prima Vista Event Center to celebrate the rich musical heritage of West Texas.
The event was masterfully led by DJ Big D (Dimas Garcia), who served as the Master of Ceremony, with music provided by DJ El Compa Javi of Del Rios Latino Mix, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.
A Historic Moment for West Texas Music
The West Texas Lifetime Music Awards are the first of their kind to honor Tejano and Conjunto musicians, artists, and industry contributors from the West Texas region. This recognition comes after decades of West Texas artists being overlooked, making this event a long-overdue acknowledgment of their impact on the music scene.
“The heart and soul of Tejano and Conjunto music have always had deep roots in West Texas,” said event organizers. “It’s time to honor the musicians and the people behind the scenes who’ve kept this tradition alive.”
