Los Chicanos are making a powerful statement with their debut album, Desde San Antonio, released through NextGen Latinx Records. Led by Steve Torres on vocals and bajo sexto, the band brings a fresh yet deeply rooted Conjunto sound to fans worldwide, blending the rich musical traditions of San Antonio with a modern energy that’s impossible to resist.
Having been a staple in the Texas music scene since 2015, Los Chicanos have long been celebrated for their high-energy live performances and authentic sound. Now, with Desde San Antonio, they’ve finally channeled that magic into a full-length studio project — a true party record mixing original songs and classic covers that capture the heart and soul of San Antonio’s vibrant culture.
The album features two standout singles that have already gained attention:
- “La Vibora” – A driving cumbia designed to ignite dance floors with its infectious rhythm and vibrant instrumentation.
- “Triste Corazón” – A heartfelt ranchera that showcases Steve Torres’ impressive songwriting and emotional vocal delivery.
Los Chicanos are now pushing their latest single, “Veinte Años,” a passionate rendition of the beloved classic. This version holds special significance, as Steve Torres’ father, Jesse Torres — who plays bass in the band — lends his voice for the background vocals, adding an emotional and personal layer to the track.
