Boyz Of Kumbia, the high-energy cumbia band from Fort Worth, Texas, has just released their much-anticipated single “Quiero,” a collaboration with the legendary Mexican norteño and banda group, Grupo Mojado. The track marks a significant milestone for the band, bringing together two influential forces in Latin music.
Boyz of Kumbia frontman Hector Gracia shared the story behind this exciting collaboration, saying, “What started as a simple message on social media turned into working together to make this song come to life. We grew up listening to Grupo Mojado and even remember having their songs in our repertoire as a local band in the DFW. We now have the privilege to call these guys our friends and share this original song.”
The song “Quiero” was written by Gracia and Fernando Rossi, blending the signature sounds of Boyz Of Kumbia with the iconic norteño influence of Grupo Mojado. All recording for the Boyz Of Kumbia section was done in their own ProMusic Studios in Fort Worth, with mixing also completed in-house. Afterward, the session was sent to Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, where Grupo Mojado tracked their parts. The final touch came in the form of mastering by Grammy-winning engineer Carlos Silva in Colombia.
The accompanying music video, directed by Jorge Villa of Prophecy Films in Mesquite, Texas, captures the heart of the collaboration, bringing the energy and passion of both bands to life on screen.

Gracia reflected on the process, saying, “This whole experience has been incredibly humbling for us, and we are excited for our fans to hear and see the final product.”
Boyz Of Kumbia, formed by the Gracia brothers (Ozzie, Ricardo, and Hector), originally from Durango, Mexico, has been a force in Tejano music for over eight years. Based in Fort Worth, the band has grown to become a staple in the local music scene and even opened their own recording studio, ProMusic Studios, where they also create music for other artists.
The band is composed of six talented members: Ricardo, Ozzie, and Hector Gracia; Luis Mario De La Rosa; Aaron Gutierrez; and Edward Terrazas. With this new release, Boyz Of Kumbia continues to cement its place in the Tejano and Latin music world.
Grupo Mojado, founded in 1980 by the Dominguez brothers—Raul, Rigo, and Miguel Angel—has been an integral part of the Mexican norteño and banda genre. Known for their chart-topping hits and revitalization of traditional Mexican music, Grupo Mojado has earned a loyal fan base that spans generations. Their influence remains strong in the Latin music industry, and their collaboration with Boyz Of Kumbia is a testament to their enduring legacy.
As both bands come together to share “Quiero,” their fans are in for a musical journey that combines rich history with fresh, innovative sounds.
