AUSTIN, TX — Award-winning singer-songwriter Estani is shining a light on her Conjunto heritage with the premiere of her latest music video, “Mi Suerte Ha Cambiado” (“My Luck Has Changed”). The song, a reimagined version of her grandmother Rosita Lopez’s original track from nearly 50 years ago, marks the first release from Estani’s upcoming Conjunto-inspired album and documentary project.
Though Estani is known for her versatility and genre-blending artistry, “Mi Suerte Ha Cambiado” is a deeply personal project that taps into her family’s rich musical history. As the granddaughter of Conjunto pioneer Rosita Lopez, Estani is now stepping into a space that’s both familiar and new—honoring tradition while bringing fresh energy to a beloved regional sound.
“Conjunto music has always been a part of who I am,” Estani said. “This project is about preserving that legacy and sharing it with new generations.”
To help bring that vision to life, Estani teamed up with Grammy Award-winning Max Baca and Los Texmaniacs. The result is a track that fuses nostalgic charm with modern production—complete with a signature backbeat, soaring harmonies, and of course, the soulful sound of the accordion. It’s a song designed to move both hearts and hips, inviting longtime fans and new listeners alike to experience the joy of Conjunto music.
The music video reflects that same spirit. Shot as a live studio performance, it captures the energy and authenticity that define the genre. With each musician locked into the groove and the vintage studio setting adding a timeless feel, the visuals transport viewers to a dancehall in South Texas—boots tapping, hands clapping, and spirits lifted.
Already recognized for her achievements in music and film by organizations such as the Hollywood Music and Media Awards and the LA Independent Women Film Awards, Estani’s latest work continues to showcase her artistry and dedication to cultural storytelling.
With an entire album and accompanying documentary in the works, “Mi Suerte Ha Cambiado” is just the beginning of Estani’s tribute to the roots of Conjunto music—and the generations that shaped it.
Watch the music video now and experience the start of what promises to be a powerful revival of a treasured tradition.
